Zuko’s hanbok is a ‘gonryongpo(곤룡포, dragon robe), which is a robe worn by the king and the heir to the throne. The gold patterns on his chest and shoulders are called hyoongbae(흉배). The king’s has a dragon with five claws on each foot, and the crown prince’s has a dragon with four claws instead. Zuko has the king’s in this drawing.
Note: the red of the robes and the gold dragon pattern are historically accurate, but I changed the color of the clothes’ lining, belt/pumdae(품대), and shoes to fit fire nation colors better.
AU where AtLA ended on a shot that captured the themes of friendship,
found family, and the 4 nations coming together in peace… instead of a
shoehorned kiss (and everyone wearing Earth Kingdom outfits..?).
I’ve been a diehard Zutara shipper since forever, but I maintain that the show should have ended without any canon ships except Sokka/ Suki.
This “alternate ending” shot is one I’ve wanted to do basically since the finale first premiered, so I’m pleased to have finally drawn it (only 13 years late…).

I mashed together some of the dialogue from the anime and the manga because they both had lines I wanted to include.
It’s funny that this edit is only from mid-February (probably?), but that the level of challenge that it posed at the time would be nothing if I attempted the same today. Yay growth! Anyway, it’s been hanging out in my drafts folder until I read “you look terrible (even though I have a giant burn wound on me)” by @cobraonthecob, and was inspired to share.

Just a painting of katara trying to learn waterbending before she had a teacher. I tried to make her look frustrated but idk she looks kind of angry. I guess anger and frustration are similar feelings so it’s not too bad but I’m still not satisfied with the result.
